01 · Brief
Aurelia had a partner summit that people attended out of obligation.
The business content was solid. The experience around it was not: a room booked for capacity, a schedule built for the agenda rather than the people in it, and an evening treated as an afterthought. The ask was to keep the substance and change how the two days felt.
02 · Idea
Design the summit around the conversations it was supposed to produce.
We reversed the usual order. The evening became the centre of the programme, and the business sessions were sequenced to feed it. Everything else followed from that decision: room layout, pacing, how people were introduced to one another, and how much unstructured time the schedule protected.
03 · Execution
Two days, one narrative, no filler.
Sessions were shortened and given a clear purpose. Seating was arranged to mix partners who had reason to talk. The evening programme was built as a single continuous setting rather than a series of stages, with hosts briefed to make introductions rather than announcements. Production, suppliers and run-of-show were managed end to end.
04 · Outcome
The summit stopped feeling like an obligation.
Partners stayed later than the schedule, and the conversations the client had hoped for happened without being programmed. The format has been retained for the following year.

In their words
“The room felt considered. Nothing about it felt like an event.”
